Our first night was spent at the Sleepy Inn near the airport - though we'll not dwell on that. We arrived, slept in a room that was NOT what we booked, ate breakfast and left, quickly!
We were collected by Cancun Car Rental ▷ Best Deals 【 Easy Way Rent a Car 】(no commission for this link) who provided us with our Dodge Attitude for the coming month travelling around. Off we went on a two and a half hour drive to Valladolid. This colonial city in the northern Yucatan was a lovely gentle start to our trip.
Unfortunately the city centre Cenote Zaci was still closed for renovations during our visit. Though we did enjoy visiting the Bee Farm, walking the streets, visiting the convent and seeing the old architecture around the city centre. Valladolid is a very small, walkable city, though it's very hot! There's loads of options for food and drink around the city, but one we MUST highlight is the amazing Wabi Gelato, the BEST ice cream we ate throughout our trip.
