Today we headed to Doi Suthep, the Wat (temple) on the mountain above Chiang Mai. It was an interesting place to visit. We were blessed by an 80 year old Buddhist monk, learned about the different Buddha poses and saw a wonderful temple with a huge gold leaf covered dome and spire.
See below the photos - the tigers were pretty placid (I suspect they may be lightly sedated), have to say it was a little scary at times, but also something I did really enjoy. I love tigers and now I've cuddled up to a massive one! (I have left my cd of photos at Tiger Kingdom but will collect it tomorrow as we pass on the way to our tour visits for the day.) Sam and the kids took our camera so I have plenty of shots of them. Frank cried after the tiger swatted him with her tail and he got a shock!
We were starving and headed out as soon as Joy delivered us back to the hotel. This evenings we decided on a Mexican meal at Loco Elvis. A couple of beers, banana shakes, some nachos supreme and chips with salsa were followed by pulled pork enchiladas, pulled pork chimichangas, a cheese quesadilla and a chicken quesadilla. Ice cream rounded of a monster of a meal, our first since breakfast!
At 1370 baht it was also our most expensive by a long way, but still only £27. Early home to type up the blog and now off to bed. Another busy day tomorrow, here's hoping we get a comment or two on the website comments box to help us jump the google rankings!
Peace, love and Chang beer to you all (bet you thought I'd say Joy?)
